About Dr. S

DR. MARIANA A. SALMASI, O.D. 

Dr. Mariana Salmasi is a medical optometrist with glaucoma certification and is trained in the treatment and management of eye diseases, specialty contact lenses, corneal refractive therapy and the preoperative evaluation and postoperative care of patients. With other doctors she co-manages patient care for LASIK and cataract surgery. Dr. Salmasi is certified in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, lacrimal irrigation and dilation, as well as certified to diagnose, treat and manage glaucoma. 

Dr. Salmasi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Doctorate of Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. Dr. Salmasi is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She has been a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the Los Angeles County Optometric Association. Dr. Salmasi has been practicing as an Optometrist since 2014 in the Los Angeles area and is concurrently practicing full-time. 

ARTIST, INNOVATOR

Aside from educational and work experience, Dr. S has a myriad of other interests. One could say she is multi-talented. She is an avid artist and designer for over twenty years and has received numerous awards for painting, sculpting and creating works of art. Her interests in design and innovation led to the creation and publication of her first eyewear patent in 2013 while still in Optometry School. The full document of Dr. S' invention can be read here. Her desire to improve the quality of people's lives led her to designing quality over-the-counter eyewear products. She is particularly interested in the harmful effects of blue-light rays that are emitted from digital devices that surround us every day.
